Dr. Gary Morgan, DVM, has been active in the veterinary profession for the past 34 years. Gary received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1975 from the University of Saskatchewan. He developed a mixed animal practice specializing in reproduction and herd health objectives. in western Prince Edward Island. Having a keen interest in professional associations, Gary held several positions both provincially and nationally, serving as President of the PEI Veterinary Medical Association in 1982-84, and as President of the Canadian Veterinary Association in 1986-87. In 1992 Gary became active in the Canadian Embryo Transfer Association (CETA), receiving Certified Practitioner status in 1994. He served as President of CETA from 2006 to 2008.
Gary Morgan is also a member of the Canadian Livestock Genetics Association, a member of Holstein Canada, and a member of the Western PEI Holstein Club. He has also served his community in many aspects, including coaching minor hockey, a leader in Scouting programs, involvement in the local hockey arena association, and church. He was recognized for his contributions to his profession and his community by receiving the Prince Edward Island Veterinary Medical Association inaugural Leadership Award in 2008.
Gary's interests in Holstein breeding and management led him to leave his veterinary practice in 2008 to focus totally on embryo transfer and reproduction management throughout Atlantic Canada, and internationally.
Gary has had the pleasure to have worked with notable Canadian Holstein cows. such as Cow of the Year Crasdale Rock-n-Roll, and Royal Winter Fair Champion IDEE Lustre.
